![]() Going monk also gives the Crane Style tree for free. The Kensai archetype allows adding level-scaling Int to AC, while the monk dip allows adding Wis. Specifically, the build should have 2 Master of Many Styles+Monk of the Sacred Mountain Monk/XX Kensai+ (possibly) Bladebound Magus. I'll outline my ideas below, but these are my main questions: Given relatively high rolls or 25+ point buys, would this work well? Should there be changes, or should the idea be scrapped altogether? Who does the enemy attack first? But when the enemy targets this swordsman in melee, not only does he have an AC through the roof, he also possesses a mechanism for punishing attacks made in melee. Imagine a party with several armored figures, a caster, and a swordsman at the very front, dressed in fancy-schmancy nobleman's clothes. The concept is aimed towards an armorless AC beast. My DM is a reasonable fellow, so a rather niche build I've been considering that would otherwise be silly just might work.
